  • A clinical social work associate (CWSA) is registered with the Board of Licensed Social Workers in Oregon.

A clinical social work associate (CWSA) is registered with the Board of Licensed Social Workers (BLSW) in Oregon. To obtain CSWA status, you must have graduated from an approved MSW program, completed a background check, and completed numerous prerequisites to formally be allowed on the path of clinical licensure.

As a CWSA, I am required to work under the supervision of a BLSW-approved supervisor until I obtain the relevant supervised clinical experience to qualify for a full license as an LCSW associate (and become a LCSW after passing the clinical exam). What does this mean in practice? CWSAs cannot provide a diagnosis, but they can provide therapeutic counseling services under supervision in an approved setting.

You can find out more on the BLSW website.

  • I currently work as a mental health therapist (CWSA) for CHERIISH Counseling in Gresham, Oregon. They offer in-person and virtual mental health therapy and equine psychotherapy services. If you are interested in engaging in their practice, please visit their website to complete a new client inquiry form and if you would like to work with me in particular, please indicate that in the form.

  • For writing services, this will be discussed as part of the contract process. For therapy/mental health services, please refer to CHERIISH Counseling’s policies.

  • Since we would be working together through CHERIISH Counseling, please visit their website to review their same-day payment discounts and pro bono information.
